The first day of school for my first born has come by so quickly! I know this is only Pre-K, but it is the beginning of letting go and trusting that I have taught her well to go into the world without her mommy. It is hard to trust someone else with a big piece of my heart...sigh. I had the whole morning planned to wake up early and make a special breakfast for Claudia to eat and relax and talk about her day and take a ton of pictures... Well luckily I did squeeze in a few pictures before we had to leave but the day did not start out as planned. Somehow I did not set my alarm clock correctly the night before and I woke up this morning late giving myself 10 minutes to get dressed and get three kids out the door and in the van! We did get out and were only 15 minutes behind schedule. I dropped Liam and Avery off to a friend's house (thanks Nancy) in their pj's and off we went. Claudia and I were on time and were able to have a quick breakfast together at school. She is so excited about going to school and making new friends.

Leaving the nest...

Quick breakfast with Mommy in the cafeteria.

Going into her classroom for the first time.

New teacher Ms. Mendez.
Exploring her new class and telling me I can leave if I want to...sigh.

Irene, you've put into words what every mother feels when they send their kids off for the first time It's so sad for us moms, but so exciting for our little ones to grow up and have adventures! The pics are adorable!
